I’ve decided to back-date my upcoming posts about London and Paris so that they fit the chronological flow of this blog. So look for the London posts in the April archive and the Paris posts in the May archive. Plus there will be posts coming soon about Turkey and many more libraries as well. :-)

And so beginith the blog

Welcome to my travel blog! I created this blog to serve as a photographic and textual record of my adventures in Copenhagen, Denmark during the Fall 2008 semester. The blog format will also make it easier to keep my family and friends updated on what I’m up to! I’ve been looking forward to this trip for a long time, and departure date is growing ever closer (exactly a month’s time)!

A little bit about myself. I’m currently working on my master’s in Information Science . I am interested in information design and interaction design. Those are fancy ways of saying graphic design and web design. :-)  I will be studying at the Royal School of Library & Information Science (RSLIS) in Copenhagen this coming semester. My school has a bilateral agreement with RSLIS that allows students from one school to study at the other and vice versa. I’m really excited about the classes I’ll be taking this semester: Knowledge Management and Interaction Design. More about those in later posts, of course!

In 2005, I graduated from college with a BA in Journalism (concentrating on Multimedia Journalism) and a minor in Information Science.  That summer, I participated in a month-long project offered by my professors in the journalism school. The project consisted of creating a multimedia documentary website about the culture and traditions of Galicia, Spain. I kept a blog during that trip which you can read here if you’re interested. My time in Spain was amazing, but short. I wish I could have stayed longer and seen more of the country. This upcoming trip will be the longest and farthest I’ve ever been away from home. That thought is scary but exciting at the same time!

Well, more later. I’ll be filling this blog with lots of randomness in the beginning, just so you know. It’ll get more interesting soon enough! Also I’m still trying to finish designing and coding the layout for this blog!

Later folks!
